Everybody has a certain fragrance family that they gravitate to. Some even have a “signature fragrance” and never wear anything else. But I think most of us like to dabble and try out new fragrances from time to time. If you saw my vanity table, you’d know I’m one of those. I must have at least 30 perfume bottles crammed in there.

I like to mix it up. I may wear a woody floral, a fruity floral, a soft floral, or if I’m going out in the evening, maybe an amber floral for a more seductive vibe.

The Classics

Night Magic sizzles with a sultry blend of warm and exotic notes, with top notes of Neroli, mid notes of Jasmine, and dry notes of Musk.

Odyssey is a warm and dreamy fragrance with flowing, silky, and romantic notes of Tubrose, Ylang-Ylang, and Warm Oatmoss.

Sweet Honesty is a warm, dreamy fragrance that encapsulates a sweet and innocent moment. I’ve worn Sweet Honesty since it came out in 1975, and I still love it. It brings back memories of young love and fun times. Sweet Honesty’s notes are Lily of the Valley, Rose, and Cedarwood.

Timeless is a mystifying combination that leaves a lasting impression of warm and exotic. It has top notes of Mimosa, Sparkling Bergamot, and Green Aldehydic; mid notes of Rich Jasmine, Magnolia, and Vetiver; and dry notes of Amber, Patchouli, and Musk.

Candid is an outspoken blend of the unexpected, filled with tropical flowers and exotic woods. Its notes are Bergamot, Tuberose, and Patchouli.

Back by popular demand, Topaze is the exquisite expression of the jewel for which it is named, with notes of Jasmine, Rose, and Sheer Musk.

Caring for Your Jewelry

I like to hang my necklaces on a corkboard inside my closet, since I have so many. Plus, I have a large jewelry box with multiple drawers to separate bracelets, rings, and pins. Vegan Beauty from Avon

There’s a lot of buzz these days about vegan beauty.

But what makes a product vegan, exactly?

To be called vegan, a product must not contain any animal-derived ingredients, such as casein, lanolin, glycerin, elastin, stearic acid, and keratin. They also cannot contain ingredients made by animals, such as milk, honey, or beeswax.

If you are vegan or even vegetarian, this is probably important to you. Some vegans go so far as to not wear leather, silk, or wool clothing and accessories.

Vegan cosmetics and skin care products may be entirely plant-based, or they may contain some ingredients that are made in a lab. You can check ingredients for most products on their websites.

Why Choose Vegan?

There are many reasons why vegan is a good choice. Of course, one of the main reasons is a love for animals and concern for them. Note that vegan and cruelty-free are not necessarily interchangeable. Cruelty-free means that a product has not been tested on animals. A product may be cruelty-free but not vegan, and vice-versa. Avon and its parent company, LG H&H, care deeply about animal welfare.

For the purposes of this post, I will concentrate on vegan products.

When you choose a vegan beauty product, or any vegan product for that matter, you are voting with your dollars for a cruelty-free future where no animals will have to suffer or die for the sake of products that can be made in other ways. I mean, who really wants to powder their face with crushed beetles? Not me!

Just as a plant-based diet is better for your health, plant-based beauty products may be better for your skin. Just be sure to check the ingredients list if you have any known allergies.

Vegan cosmetics are better for the planet, too. Most vegan products are made with more natural ingredients and fewer synthetics, which means fewer toxic chemicals are released into our waterways, soil, and air. It also means fewer fossil fuels are being used to product said synthetics.

Vegan products help save the bees. Bee-derived products are actually quite common in cosmetics. The trouble is that these ingredients are not typically sourced sustainably. Bees are a very important part of our ecosystem, and without them, many crops would fail and food would become scarce. Bees are essential to the life of the planet.

What if I don’t know how to order online?

No problem! You can browse the online catalog, or a hard-copy catalog that I send you in the mail, and then call, text, or email me with your order. I can place it online for you and have it shipped directly to your home. I accept credit/debit cards, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, and CashApp.

But I want to look at a paper brochure.

Lots of people do! That’s why my online customers go on a mailing list to receive a physical brochure every month. As long as you place an order at least once a year, you’ll stay on the list.

How can I find a local Avon Rep?

If you really feel you need to have your Avon Rep come to your house, the easiest way to find one is to go to the Find a Rep tool on Avon.com. If you already know a Rep, you can enter his or her first and last name and state, and a list will come up. If you don’t know anyone, scroll down to Find My Perfect Rep. Select your language, enter your ZIP Code, and hit Continue. Then you can narrow your search by selecting your favorite product categories, your lifestyle, and your interests. Once you do that, a list of Reps that fit your profile will come up – kind of like online dating. The list will show you the Rep’s areas of expertise, whether she delivers in person or only does direct (online) sales, and it will have links to her personal profile and self-introduction video, if she has one. It will also show you how far away from you she lives and provide her contact information. Here’s an example:

Can I just shop on Avon.com without picking a Representative?

You can. BUT, you will not be able to take advantage of sale prices or free shipping. So, it is in your best interests to select a Representative!

I’ve seen Avon at the flea market/on Ebay, Amazon, Walmart.com, etc.

Proceed with caution.

It is against Avon’s policies for Representatives to sell on sites like Facebook Marketplace, Ebay, Amazon, and Walmart.com. It is also against policy to have a permanent flea market space. (One-time vendor shows are permitted.) When you purchase from any of these, Avon’s 45-day money-back guarantee will not apply. Also, you do not know how old the product is or if the person you are buying from is reputable. Therefore, it is always wise to buy from a current Avon Representative who has an active online store.

How do I find coupon codes and special deals?

Live Shopping is not a new concept – it has its roots a trend that began in the early 1990s with the likes of QVC and HSN, where “hosts” show products an talk about them on TV, and shoppers make phone calls to purchase. But the new Livestream Shopping of today differs in several ways:

You can watch a Live Shopping event online with your computer, tablet, or phone in real time
You can purchase immediately by tapping a product
You can participate in the conversation via rolling chat

When did Livestreaming E-commerce start?

Good question! This concept began in China in 2016, when social retail giant Taobao developed a new way to market their products. It was a huge success!
