Hey there! Are you a Contender-Level Avon Representative? Meaning, you have not yet reached $5,000 in the calendar year to reach Premier Level? Are you confused about your commission on Avon sales?
There has recently been some confusion and discussion online about earning commission on orders of $40 or more for Contender Level Avon Representatives.
Previous to 2022, Contender Representatives earned their commission in a campaign retroactively, once their campaign sales reached $40. But as of January 2022, that was changed to reflect industry standards.
Here’s How It Works:
As a Contender, you earn 25% on Beauty/Jewelry and 20% on Fashion/Home, ONLY after your campaign sales reach $40. This means that if the first order placed in a campaign is less than $40, you will not receive commission on that order, even if you later reach the $40 threshold.
For example:
- Your online customer places an order for $25 on the first day of the campaign. You place your $30 order on the last day of the campaign. You will receive commission on your $30 order only, because you have now exceeded $40 for the campaign.
- You place a $42 order on the first day of the campaign. Your online customer places a $12 order on the fifth day. You will receive commission on both orders.
My recommendation is that you place your orders as early in the campaign as possible, and make sure your order is at least $40. That way, you won’t be missing out on any commission. What I do is give my brochures out in advance, and place my first order on the first day of the campaign. Then if I get more orders later, I’ll place a second order the following week.
What if you don’t have $40 in orders? Look at it this way. If you have $35 in orders, you get zero commission. If you have $40 in orders, you get $10 assuming it’s all beauty and jewelry. So, add in a $5 to $10 item for yourself and get it free! Surely there is something in our product line that you can use and are probably buying at the grocery store or drugstore. Buy it from yourself and get a discount!
Remember, once you reach Premier Level of $5,000 in a year, your commission level goes up to 30% on beauty/jewelry and 20% on fashion/home, and the $40 threshold no longer applies. You will get your commission on every order regardless.
