Personal Uses

  • Its intended use – as a bath oil and after-shower moisturizer.
  • Use it to remove makeup.
  • It’s a hot oil treatment for softening cuticles.
  • Use as a massage oil.
  • Use to remove sticky tape residue from stickers or bandages – safe for skin!
  • It removes ink stains from skin.
  • It’s an effective insect repellent.
  • It relieves itching caused by dry skin (great in the winter months!)
  • It removes oil, grease, and paint from skin.
  • It soothes minor sunburn.
  • If you’ve been working outside in the garden, rub your hands with Skin So Soft before washing them, and they will get cleaner.
  • It helps heal dry, cracked skin.
  • Add 1 or 2 caps full to liquid soap, and use to shave your legs – it helps the razor glide and leaves skin silky smooth.
  • Add to your foot bath to moisturize your feet while relaxing them.
  • It removes chewing gum from hair, skin, and most non-porous surfaces.
  • It works great on head lice! Saturate the head and leave it on for 15 minutes, then rinse under an outdoor faucet. Shampoo a couple of times to remove the oil, and the lice should be gone!

Household Uses

  • It kills ants instantly, and if you spray it around where they’re coming in, they won’t come back.
  • It’s a good wood cleaner and conditioner for natural wood.
  • Use like Goof Off to remove glue residue from price stickers on glass, metal, and most plastics.
  • It removes soap scum from shower doors, shower curtains, and bathroom and kitchen fixtures.
  • It removes hard water deposits from fixtures, tile, shower doors, and windows.
  • It works as a lubricant for fitting pipe joints that won’t slip together.
  • It cleans ink off of most vinyl and painted surfaces.
  • It cleans heavy oil and grease from non-porous surfaces.
  • It takes animal fur off of clothing and other fabrics.
  • Rub some on brass ornaments or figurines to help keep them from turning dark.
  • It removes crayon marks from walls and appliances.
  • Mix it in your cleaning water to keep ants out of your cupboards.

  • Put some in a lawn sprayer bottle attached to your hose and spray down your yard to keep the bug population down.
  • Spray on rose bushes to keep the deer from eating them (will have to try this on my tiger lilies; the deer eat them every year as soon as they bloom!).
  • It kills spiders and those awful earwigs, too.
  • It cuts grease and dirt from range hoods.
  • Add a capful to your wash water – it acts as a fabric softener and keeps bugs away from your clothes.
  • Spray on orchids and other flowers for moisture and to keep bugs away.
  • To clean baseball caps, spray on Skin So Soft and rub with an old toothbrush.
  • Mix 1 part Skin So Soft and 2 parts water, spray on tomato plants to keep the tomato worms away. Spray every 2 to 3 days.

Pets and Other Critters

  • It’s a great insect repellent for your pet (as recommended in Outdoor Life and Field and Stream).
  •  Mix 5 parts water, 1 part Skin So Soft in a spray bottle and mist on animals, then brush it in to make their coat gleam and keep bugs off.
  • Put some in your pet’s bath water to keep fleas away.
  • Rub some on your hands after working with pets and farm animals. It will remove the strong smells.
  • Black fly spray for dogs (use as a spray or dip): 1 cup Skin So Soft, 1/2 cup liquid detergent, and 3 gallons of water.
  • For pets with dry skin problems, mix 1 Tbsp. Skin So Soft with 1 gallon of water and use as an after-bath rinse or spray on the pet’s coat once a week.
